Sewing Project

Anyone know of a good sewing project to do with kids? Particularly an 8 year old girl who really wants to sew?

I would be grateful for any suggestions or recommendations...

I have a teddy bear pattern somewhere. Really simple, two pieces sewn together. I think I made about 40 of them when I was 10. I'll see if I can find it.

I also made little doll quilts. like 6 calico squares pieced, and tied.
(my mom worked in a quitling store when I was little)

I made potholders out of felt when I was a kid. I cut out a fish shape, and learned how to embroider around the edge to close it. I still have it. That was a project from that kids Make-It book that I posted not too long ago. So maybe a book would be fun, or a class somewhere, or have a sewing party! The magazine Family Fun has some good projects. They also have a website that might have some ideas for you.
